Working principle of the volume control knob
When turning the volume adjustment knob in the earpiece, the volume control is actually by increasing the output resistance of the potentiometer, thereby reducing the output volume. It is a common problem for this type of earpiece that the potentiometer can't control the output resistance very accurately, but this problem can be optimized by replacing a potentiometer with a larger adjustment range.
Optimized potentiometer specification
The former version potentiometer that controls the volume change has a maximum adjustable resistance of 999 ohms, the new version with a new potentiometer can be adjusted to a maximum of 2000 ohms.
